WP6 ensures smooth implementation of BioGeoSea. It oversees project governance, reporting, and communication with partners, stakeholders, and the European Commission. WP6 also supports project committees, links BioGeoSea with related initiatives, and fosters cross-domain collaboration and knowledge exchange.
BioGeoSea will collaborate closely with the sister projects BioEcoOcean and ObsSea4Clim, as well as other international ocean research initiatives. Cooperation will take place both at a strategic level and through practical collaboration among work packages. These efforts will connect cross-domain activities and support the joint development and implementation of Essential Ocean Variable (EOV) specifications for improved ocean observation.
The Project Coordination Unit (PCU), based at GEOMAR, manages BioGeoSea’s daily operations and ensures smooth communication among all partners and with the European Commission. It oversees financial and administrative processes, organises project and committee meetings, and prepares official reports. The PCU also maintains regular communication channels and shared tools to keep all partners informed and coordinated throughout the project.
